RAF Periscopic Sextant Mk 2A
Made by Kelvin Hughes, these are the
equal to the Kollsman but due to financial cut backs, again, they
went out of production and when the Nimrod needed a sextant the
RAF had to buy American. Where have we seen that before.
These sextants must have the 3Volt
bubble/pendulum light powered in order to work.
The plug has three pins, centre is
common and the outers are 28V and 3V. Apply 3V to each in turn
till you see the bubble illuminated.
The 28V supply is for the Heaters.
